The body lay prone with the legs slightly apart, the left arm folded under the chest with the forearm set across the front of the neck and the hand close to the face. Heather in bloom which had become buried with the body had remained bright green.
Throughout the one hour running time of Tara Fatehi Irani’s ‘Performing the Archive’, 24 photos were captured on roll film by Jemima Yong. See a selection of these photos on this page.
Tara Fatehi Irani is an artist who captures the ephemeral and reciprocal traces of memories, words and sites and translates these through performance, language and installation. Hiding behind a deceptive and distorted naivety, her works trigger ideas and sensations through (mis)interpreting forsaken histories, texts, bodies, artefacts and sounds.
